In 1925, Rinaldo and Ezilda Torre visited family in Lucca, Italy. The two returned home to their native San Francisco with something very important: handwritten recipes, which they used to create authentic flavored syrups. These syrups helped Rinaldo and Ezilda reintroduce the Italian soda to their neighborhood. Years later, our syrup was used to create the world’s first flavored latte! We’ve remained a family-owned company -- adhering to the high quality standards that Rinaldo and Ezilda set over 90 years ago. Each and every syrup, sauce, and smoothie is created with care and pride. That’s a promise from our entire family -- including the more than 100 members that make up the Torani team. We started with just five syrups, and have since grown to a portfolio of over 150 sold around the globe. That’s a lot of flavor! And we’re excited to bring you new taste traditions and flavors as we move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Torani a premium syrup brand worth the price?
Torani has been family owned and operated since 1925, with a 150+ flavor portfolio developed for both home and professional baristas. The pure cane sugar base, natural flavors, and cold filtered water formulation all contribute to a more refined taste that justifies the price compared to mass market syrups built on high fructose corn syrup.
Is the 4-pack presentation considered gift worthy or premium looking?
The 4-pack is presented in a clean, branded multipack that feels substantial and gift ready. Many luxury customers add a custom ribbon, place the bottles in a wooden crate, or pair them with a milk frother and a small bottle of vanilla Torani to build a complete, presentation ready gift set.
Does Torani offer flavors beyond what is on the grocery shelf?
Yes, Torani offers 150+ flavors including rare and seasonal options like Mangonada, Sweet Heat, and Sour Candy. The brand frequently releases limited edition flavors tied to seasonal menus, which appeals to collectors and luxury home bar enthusiasts who want exclusive options.
How does the flavor quality compare to a homemade simple syrup?
A homemade simple syrup is essentially sugar and water, while Torani delivers that base plus carefully developed natural flavor systems, balanced acidity, and consistent quality at scale. For most home baristas, the convenience and consistency of a premium commercial syrup is well worth the cost over the time it takes to make and store homemade versions.
Is the bottle design elegant enough for an open shelf or home bar display?
The 25.4 fl oz bottle has a clean, professional silhouette that looks at home next to coffee equipment and barware, and the bright color of the syrup itself becomes part of the visual appeal. Many customers line several Torani bottles in a row on open shelving or a beverage station as part of a styled home bar.
Can I use this syrup in a high end cocktail program at home?
Yes, Torani is the same brand used in many craft cocktail and coffee programs, and professional bartenders rely on its consistency for signature drinks. A strawberry syrup at home can anchor elevated drinks like a strawberry balsamic martini, a French 75 variation, or a basil strawberry smash.
Does the 4-pack format feel substantial compared to a single bottle?
The 4-pack signals generosity and intention, which reads as a more premium purchase than a single bottle. It also gives a luxury home bar a richer visual footprint on the shelf, which is part of the aesthetic for people who curate their kitchen and bar as a design statement.
How does Torani's 90+ year heritage contribute to its luxury positioning?
A family owned company that has been continuously operating since 1925 carries the kind of legacy that luxury consumers value. Torani's longstanding presence in cafes, its 150+ flavor development, and its multigenerational ownership all reinforce a story of consistent quality, which is at the heart of what makes a brand feel premium.
Are the ingredients in Torani consistent with a clean label, premium product?
Yes, the ingredient panel is short and recognizable, including pure cane sugar, water, natural flavors, citric acid, and standard food grade preservatives. There are no high fructose corn syrups, no artificial sweeteners, and no synthetic dyes in the classic formulation, which is exactly what premium buyers expect.
Is this syrup a good fit for a luxury gift basket paired with other high end items?
Absolutely, the 4-pack pairs beautifully with items like a Chemex coffee maker, a Bagatto bottle, a SMEG milk frother, or artisanal cocktail bitters. The syrup acts as a versatile flavor foundation that complements nearly any premium kitchen or bar accessory, which is what makes it a reliable luxury gift anchor.
How does the taste of Torani compare to a luxury European syrup like Monin or 1883?
Torani sits in the same premium tier as Monin and 1883, and all three are widely used in cafes and bars. The choice between them comes down to flavor preference and regional availability, and many luxury home bar enthusiasts keep two or three brands on hand to compare across drink types.
Does the syrup hold its flavor over time like a fine ingredient should?
Yes, the cane sugar base and natural flavoring are stable, and the sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate preservatives extend shelf life well beyond a year unopened. Even opened, the flavor profile remains consistent for months when refrigerated, which is what you want from a premium pantry staple.
Is the price per ounce reasonable for a premium cane sugar syrup?
The 4-pack format brings the per ounce cost down significantly compared to buying single bottles, which makes it a strong value within the premium syrup category. For frequent home users and small businesses, the 4-pack is the most economical way to stock a high quality syrup.
Can I use this syrup to create a luxury coffee bar at home?
Yes, a few bottles of Torani alongside an espresso machine, a milk frother, and quality beans is the foundation of a luxury home coffee bar. Strawberry pairs especially well with dark roast espresso and oat milk, producing a flavored latte that rivals the best cafe offerings.
Does the bright red color feel too playful for a sophisticated setting?
Not at all, vibrant natural color is a hallmark of craft cocktail and coffee culture, and a bright strawberry syrup adds visual drama to drinks in a way that signals effort and care. The color becomes a design element on a styled bar cart or beverage station, which is exactly the aesthetic modern luxury entertaining embraces.
Is Torani the same syrup used in upscale cafes and restaurants?
Yes, Torani is one of the most widely used syrups in coffee shops, cocktail bars, and restaurants across the United States and internationally. Buying it for home use means you are bringing a true professional ingredient into your kitchen, which is the core of luxury home entertaining.
How do I use Torani strawberry syrup to make an Italian soda at home?
Fill a tall glass with ice, add about 2 tablespoons of Torani strawberry syrup, top with 8 to 10 ounces of chilled club soda, stir gently, and finish with a splash of half and half for a classic strawberry cream Italian soda. Adjust the syrup amount to match your preferred sweetness.
What's the best way to make flavored coffee with this syrup?
Brew a shot of espresso or a strong half cup of coffee, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of strawberry syrup to the bottom of your mug, pour the coffee over the syrup, then add steamed or frothed milk. For iced coffee, combine the syrup with cold coffee, ice, and milk in a shaker or tall glass.
Can I use this syrup in recipes beyond drinks, like baking or desserts?
Yes, strawberry Torani is a popular baking ingredient for frosting, glaze, cupcake batter, sugar cookies, popsicles, and milkshakes. A teaspoon or two adds fruit flavor and a soft pink color to frostings, and it dissolves easily into batters and icings without thinning them out.
Is this syrup compatible with soda makers like SodaStream or Drinkmate?
Yes, the syrup is fully compatible with any home soda maker. Flavor the carbonated water after it leaves the machine by adding the syrup to your glass first or pouring it in and stirring, since adding syrup to the carbonating bottle can affect carbonation and create excess foam.
Does this syrup work with dairy free milk alternatives like oat and almond milk?
Yes, Torani strawberry syrup mixes easily with oat, almond, soy, and coconut milk. Oat milk is especially popular for strawberry lattes because of its creamy texture, and the natural cane sugar and flavor pair well with plant based milks without any separation or graininess.
What is included in the box when I order the 4-pack?
The 4-pack ships as four 25.4 fl oz bottles of Torani strawberry flavored syrup inside a single outer carton. Nothing else is included, so you will want to have ice, sparkling water, milk, or your preferred mixer on hand to start using the syrup right away.
Is the syrup safe to drink past the printed best by date?
The best by date reflects peak flavor quality, and the preservatives help the syrup remain safe for some time past that date if the bottle is unopened and stored properly. Once opened, refrigerate the bottle and use it within a few months for the best taste, and discard if you notice any change in color, smell, or texture.
Does the bottle need to be refrigerated after opening?
Yes, Torani recommends refrigerating the bottle after opening to preserve the brightest flavor and color. The cold storage also slows any natural flavor degradation, so an opened bottle kept in the fridge typically stays fresh for several months of regular use.
What is the difference between a coffee syrup, a drink syrup, and a cocktail syrup?
In most cases, the term refers to the same category of cane sugar based liquid flavoring, and a brand like Torani is designed to work across all three uses. Specialty cocktail syrups sometimes include gum arabic or extra sugar for a richer mouthfeel, but the base formula and how you use it are essentially the same.
